I have created a guitar stand for my DT a level project and would appreciate any feedback in response to this post or by completing the short survey I have linked.

Thank you in advance

Very cool. I don't think I've seen anything quite like that before.

I like the way it stands the guitar straight up, very nice.  I wouldn’t buy one, but I would pay £25-£30 for one.

Actually, I would probably buy one, if the colours were less primary.   A nice acoustic would look good in an all beech or oak coloured one.

    Looks good, well done!

Looks nice but a few more details would be helpful.
    Good luck with it.

Done ... but ... some vital qualities of the product are impossible to assess from photographs alone.

    For example, weight.

If the base of the stand not counter-weighted, in a stage or rehearsal environment, both the stand and the supported guitar could be knocked over by clumsy/inebriated people. Your design may need to be over-engineered if it is to withstand roadies and drummers.

Designwise a good idea. A simple yes/no survey is not really the best way of getting feedback because there  are probably aspects that are "yes if". For example I  not convinced that it will be completely stable with such a narrow base so I don't know whether I would trust an expensive guitar on it.

Because it doesn't fold it isn't very portable so only really suitable for use at home, which is OK.

It would need more padding on parts that the guitar touches to avoid any scuffing and the padding would need not to damage nitro cellulose paint finishes.

I didn't complete the survey because I don't want Survey Monkey's cookies on my device!

It looks pretty cool and if the one shown is considered as a prototype to be developed to take account of feedback then it could end up being a good sales prospect. Good luck.

P.S. Maybe it was just for the photo but keeping a guitar next to a radiator is not very kind to it ;)

That's pretty cool looking. It reminds me a of a giraffe for some reason! If you haven't got a name for it then Giraffe Stand would be a memorable name for it I reckon!

@ameliahayward the photos only show in the online survey and can't be viewed again after the survey is completed. It might be worthwhile posting the photos in this thread if you can. Someone here will help you with that if you have any trouble doing it.

I don't think it''s intended for the rigours of a World Tour. It's more of a decorative item to compliment your music room in the same way mug trees and kitchen roll holders compliment your kitchen.
As such, I quite like it.

  • That looks great and very different from anything else available.  It would be good to see it in use with an electric guitar as well as an acoustic.  Good luck with it.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like the purple and blue thing is doing something explicit to the green and yellow thing?
Sorry to lower the tone of an otherwise respectable thread.
