SOLD: Rift TV front Tweed 15, 5A3 Deluxe style circuit. The previous owner was Chris V of Guitar Magazine and there’s a link below to his original sales listing. This gives details of some mods/upgrades to the amp made by the magazine’s Huw Price, and includes a link to a video of the amp in action.

It’s a great sounding amp, with NOS Adzam/Philips power valves and a Fane N30 neo speaker, which also means it’s lightweight. No changes since I got it from Chris - other than my realisation that having three Tweed Deluxe style amps is too many and it’s last in first out.

The price is £700 firm and I’m just looking for a sale rather than trades. Collection from Salisbury in Wiltshire or I can deliver for petrol money if not too far and I could possibly do a daytime meet at Waterloo Station in London. I also have a DHL carton that was used when the amp was shipped here, so I could pack it up securely if a buyer wanted to send a courier to collect from me. Thanks for looking.

Interested in how versatile it is. How much clean headroom does it have with the Fane or does it turn into a beast pretty quickly? Also, is it fussy with pedals? Currently considering either (1) going further down the modelling route or (2) getting a quality small amp that could be used for small rehearsals / venues but can double up as a pedal platform for home based noodling.

A Hymn of Praise to the Tweed Deluxe: this I believe to be the best looking variant of the 5E3 cab, and has been designed by a national amp-building treasure.  Thus, it's bang on the money for such a gem.  The original Deluxe is a very nuanced amp, if understood properly; as we all know, Neil Young's Wizzer mechanically shifts the volumes and tone combinations on his gnarly Deluxes by small increments to give many splendid variants of the hottest tone on the planet (plus L Carlton used a Deluxe on his earlier records too, and they turned out quite well...).  And the new generation of Fane speakers are shockingly good, with plenty of definition - far superior to a Jensen IMHO, up there with a Scumnico etc.; plus, a good Deluxe takes pedals very well, is as light as a feather, and an ideal small rehearsal amp, which will attract both envious and heart melting looks.
And I'm not even selling this...

Thanks for the comments @dazzajl @sweave @dcg @Dominic, and thanks for the pm @carl999popIt is a lovely sounding amp that’s for sure.

It has a decent amount of clean headroom, although as a Deluxe style amp it’s not really about very loud cleans. I know that with recent Rift Tweeds you can plug ‘n’ play 6L6s and a GZ34 for a very loud 20 watts. Not sure if this one is the same, maybe @RiftAmps will be able to say?

The amp is also very pedal-friendly in my experience. I played it earlier today with a Fallout Cloud, a Klone and an analogue delay and they all sounded great.

    Buy now while stocks last!
