Might have been smarter to fit the fret wire like on a sitar.

The truss rod must be extremely deep for that not to have hit the channel. I had an old SQ series Squier neck which had been scalloped butchered far less heavily than that and gone through to it at top of the neck.

I used it to test things like the strength of various stripped-neck-screw repair methods, truss rod repair methods, and how strong a Fender-type neck actually is if you put it on two bricks and jump on it...

    Surely that’s a Photoshop job?

Surely any adjustment of the truss rod is going to snap that neck like a carrot! And why isn't the truss rod visible? I'm going with the photoshop angle.

Yeah, looks photoshop to me. It's got the give-away badly photoshopped pixelation and then there's the truss rod issue and the dot-marker.

Nah, don't think that has been photoshopped. I wonder if it has had a new fretboard installed to allow this 'experiment'. If you look at the headstock north of the nut slot,  there is a straight line indicating a maple fretboard glued onto the maple neck. This join is about 2-3mm higher than the truss-rod channel (difficult to guess accurately on a curved surface), and you can follow this line along the edge of the neck - so I reckon there is at least 1-2mm of wood above the trussrod channel.

However, it looks a bit daft. I wonder if it was an attempt to convert something like a strat to a lap-steel-type guitar?
