How to find collaborators (online maybe?)

I'm severely lacking confidence in my lyrics and songwriting chops at the moment and could do with a hand. I've got plenty of musical ideas, but am missing inspiration for lyrics and potential melodies for choruses in most instances, verses in others and chord structures/sequences/from verse transitions for choruses etc. So need help in a few areas really.

I'm not in a band but have a passion for writing my own stuff and really want to record some music, finally, this year.

Thing is, this lack of confidence has me putting the instrument down and has affected my inspiration to play, so could do with a booster and some help!

Long story short, is there a music collaboration site you guys use? Any advice welcome.

You can always use dropbox and collaborate on projects like that

Facebook ads or cold calling with some of your work as reference? I've been moderately successful with these. I'd love to take some time to go out to open mic and chatting with like-minded individuals. That'd be even better but requires some effort.
