Found at the shop... no idea where it came from, or what it is! It may have fallen out of a guitar case or the back of an amp possibly, but we don't know or have any way of tracing its possible owner - except that it appears to be Chinese and not made for export since there is no western text on it other than the electrical spec.
It plugs into the mains and is obviously designed to be used there - it doesn't seem heavy enough to contain a rechargeable battery - so probably on a wall. The two movable electrodes that clamp onto whatever it grips are not very rigid and would bend easily if too much force was applied to them, so I think it's used with something soft.
Or anyone able to read Chinese script? I tried the Google Translate camera app on it, and although it did seem to recognise some of the characters, the words it came up with were fairly meaningless...

Looks very Heath-Robinson though - there's no polarity marked on it or anything, and I'm sure connecting a Li-Ion battery the wrong way round is a light-the-blue-touchpaper job...
