Jackson and the TJ's were a mythical instrumental funk soul band active from 1965 to 1978. Often dubbed 'the 2nd Rate Meters' or 'Booker T and the WannaBees' they never reached the notoriety of their contemporaries. Originally an 12 piece funk band, Jackson sacked the TJ's in 1978 due to differences in hat choice. The TJ's went their separate ways and enjoyed varying degrees of success as the Sesame Street backing band and the bass player did the slap sections on Seindfeld. Jackson went into a deep despair and became reclusive, he was found washing car windshields in 2008 at an Aldi store near Stockport. He'd totally cut himself off from the past, but then one day while hoovering behind the sofa he found a copy of his first JATTJ's
album and declared himself back! He died the next day after an unfortunate accident with hot Bovril. This is Jackson and the TJ's most successful record recorded in 1965, on an ipad air first generation. The beat is a garageband loop and the Sax was by Charlotte. Jackson played everything else, famously kicking the TJ's out of the studio session for having 'bad timing and even worse hair'. The picture is Jackson in '65 in Rolling Stone Magazine (page 84).
