Greetings folks,
A brief update on my latest project - the horse chestnut/ash PRS-a-like with Creamery 'trons. I still have to finesse the nut, attach the backplate and tweak the trussrod. Oh, and complete the wiring. But it's nearly done.
So here are a couple of photo's of the finished item, and the Master Luthier, Isaac, helping out Daddy. Proud Daddy moment

Hopefully finished by the weekend, and will try to upload some sound samples via phone....

Questions and comments, as always, welcome!

Love it, genuinely different paint job and a nice story to go with it. Great work from both of you.

Thanks folks - your kind comments are most welcome :)

Ok. Here it goes. I recorded a short Youtube clip of strumming through some chords. Please try to get past the playing and hear the guitar.... If i can find a way, I'll try and record something a little more constructive.

Starting off at bridge, and working through with tone/vol adjustments. The amp is initially fairly clean, and then overdrive channel. Initial distortion from phone.

Putting a video up here feels like jumping naked into a public swimming pool, but anyway.

    It's really not that bad.

When I jumped naked into the swimming pool, it caused all sorts of trouble.  Probably shouldn't have done it during the Ladies' under 40s swimming session, but hey-ho.

Now you've built this guitar together, presumably the next project will involve something like this ...

    :D

    Big congrats to you both.

Y'know, its funny you mention that....... My boys got me a voucher for amp building for christmas..... So a few messages to Michael @Modulus_Amps (sorry for the out-of-hours pestering!) later and i'll be picking up one of his excellent Marshall kits at the Birmingham show!

And yes, i may just ask him to make the controls go up to 11 - 's one louder, innit?

Cheers :) I am thinking of using the same rippled ash for the head shell for the amp, with the same yellow/black burst (but without the stripes)...... In my head it works!

Next plan with Isaac will be a 6+12 double neck featuring Oil City pickups, rippled ash on mahog body (blue-purple-green burst), mahog necks and ebony 'boards. Gotta make things easy!
