So about 18 months ago I made up an XLR loom for myself for using live with my modeller. It included 5 XLR cables. It was a rudimentary affair which consisted of the XLR cables being held together with cable ties then wrapped in gaffer tape.
It's worked flawlessly in all that time but has slowly been shredding the tape and looking a bit of a mess, as well as being a bit bulky and unmanageable. So I've actually now bought myself a new professionally made loom.
So today I decided to dismantle my home made effort. I snipped all the cable ties off and managed to remove all the tape which was a massive pain in the ass. However I'm left now with a sticky residue on all of the cables. I attempted to wash it off using soapy warm water which hasn't really done anything.
Could anyone suggest anything I could use to get the residue of the cables? Is there a product out there that will do the job?
