Acoustic + singing vs lead playing

I spent the better part of 20 years doing lead guitar, maybe 2-3 years of which was in a band and loved it.
But I tell you... I'm trying solo acoustic + singing now and it is WAY tougher than lead guitar playing.
The sheer amount of fingerstyle patterns and chords to remember, plus sync'ing it up to vocals, making the vocals sound good, making the guitar sound full and interesting the whole time and in general trying to make it sound passable... mother of mercy. Talk about baring yourself. Way way harder than any sort of lead playing I did in the band...!! I've got massive respect now for those that go up to do this sort of thing.

    Hello there.

I always thought it was the other way around. I love playing lead but sometimes tend to other think it.

I love acoustic playing and singing but I must admit it is harder than it seems. Took me years.
