How does Mick Taylor earn a living these days?

What's Hot
LebarqueLebarque Frets: 3840
Just curious, since they always bang on about not making any money from That Pedal Show, but Mick's at the studio every day. Obviously Dan has The Gig Rig, but what about Mick, since he left the magazine world behind?

He lives off his royalties from his days in the Rolling Stones, topped up with royalties from old guitarist magazine reprints.

    Probably.

  • He does media consultancy of some sort based on his passing comments.

Although they say things like Patreon go back into production costs I don't know if they keep any profits from the merchandise and advertising on TPS.
He seems to have quite a lot of disposable income so he's getting it from somewhere ( or is crippingly in debt).
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

  • He does work with gear companies such as Victory, who I assume pay him something for his work. Plus, having been in the industry and the jobs he's had over the last 2 decades, one would assume he has some money left over.
Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

    Probably.

I thought he left the Stones because he wasn't getting any credit for his input. Working on YouTube must be getting him some Satisfaction.

  • In the summer he picks fruit, the rest of the time he prostitutes himself down the local docks....allegedly.

Not really. People are nosy beasts - I admit it. If you put yourself out there and profit from people paying attention to you, it's only natural people want to get to know you a bit. Let's not start on intrusive tabloids etc, which I hate as much as the next man.

My interest stems from pure jealousy and I've got total admiration and appreciation for D & M. As a standard 9-5er, I'd love to know how to run a YouTube channel and buy loads of expensive gear without a day job. We've got to learn from each other right? Sounds like he does freelance video production. Good for him.

  • People are only asking these questions because they'd like to support themselves doing his job, not because they're interested in his private matters.

  • @Lebarque youtube and patreon revenue look to be fairly substantial based on their viewership.

As for the gear, whilst TPS may not take payment from companies to feature gear, it doesn't mean that they have to buy every single piece of gear that they feature?

They often say that they don't make any money from the show, since it all goes into production costs.

True about getting freebies and loans I guess.

I don't believe they make no money from the show for a second - they have 220,000 subscribers.
