After paying a bit more attention to Marty Friedman, I thought I'd check out other guitarists I've heard of but not really considered. Thought I try Andy Timmons since spotting him in the latest issue of Guitarist... Well strike a light, because I honestly can't believe what I've been missing out on. Just beautiful and inspiring stuff!

Love a bit of Timmons. Such a great guitarist. Saw him live once, a wonderfully perfect player.

Yes a blindingly good player - Electric Gypsy is one of my fav instrumental guitar tracks.

Just in case anybody reading this isn't aware, we've got 4 UK dates with Andy at the beginning of April (Liverpool, Birmingham, Witney, London)... huge fan myself and can't wait!

Yeah, he's awesome. The only thing I have against him (and other guitarists) is that I seem to tire of just hearing guitar instrumentals these day if I stick a whole album on. I prefer some singing and keyboards as well. Having said that, at work I like instrumental music on in the background whilst working, and AT live is one of my go to things.

Two albums of his that I really like:

Resolution, where he decided to play all guitar rhythm/lead as a single take with no overdubs, and

Sgt Peppers, where he recreated the whole Beatles album as instrumentals.

Big AT fan here. Currently working out the intro to "She's Leaving Home" from the Sgt Peppers album. Heard it live a few times now and just love it.

Like most of his tunes TBH.

Great player, nice guy. Made a point of catching his demos several times over two days at the Frankfurt music trade fair in '99. Still have the pick and signed pic.

I've had a thing for his full-fat Japanese signature model since...

I was trying to find London info. Got bored pretty quick, loads of dumb sites with no proper info. Any idea where he's actually playing?

Thanks and bugger! It's a Sunday, I'm in London all week and not that far from Camden, but it would be a royal pain in the ass to get there on a Sunday. I probably missed it as I was looking for a gig.

Just had word that we’re rescheduled for the last week in September, 23rd Liverpool, 24th Birmingham, 26th Witney and 27th London. Hope this works for everyone who bought tickets! Absolutely itching to get out there...
