Hi, would like to buy a short scale bass, the cheaper the better.  Preferably with flatwounds already on it.  Thanks

    Welcome to tFB.

It might help to include a few clues as to your preferred brands and models. If you express a preference for a solid body instrument such as an EB-3, a Mustang Bass or a Talman, it will save time sifting through offers of Höfner Violin basses.
    Be seeing you.

Hi FF, that's a good point, though to be honest I'd probably be open to any type at all as I only really want it for recording two songs then I'll pass it on. I guess the only thing I'd not want is something super bright sounding. Price is the main thing for me

A Squier Mustang, an Epiphone EB0 (or EB3), or an Ibanez Mikro would be the obvious choices for me.

Left-field is a Retrovibe Les Paul Junior.

Up-market, a Fender Mustang is around the £6-700 (used) mark.

Silly money, an Alembic was recently on offer for £4k.
