Woo! Another conversion. My old band played with them AGES ago when they were in the UK. Fantastic live band and great guys too. Their first album is much more poppy (less blippy-bloppy) but a stone cold classic as far as I’m concerned.

We were InLight. Fairly standard indie stuff, but just before YouTube & Facebook went massive so there’s not much online now

There's a YT channel called NPR Music that has a series called Tiny Desk Concerts. Each 'concert' is just three or four songs and there is quite a range of acts (although with a fairly hippsterish bent).

Perfect time to find your own favourites.

Try Five Horse Johnson. JP filled in on drums for them a couple of times and Eric played some harmonica for them

On a completely and utterly different note, recently I came across two records that totally blew my mind. Both are rather heavy in places but my goodness...so good.

In a War On Drugs vein, the last Kurt Vile album (Bottle It In) is an absolute doozy.  This is Bassackwards...



Last year's Cat Le Bon album (Reward) is also a real treat.  Like Berlin-era Bowie mixed up with early '80s Rough Trade post-punk (Young Marble Giants, Raincoats, Slits).  I think it's fantastic.
