Gretsch Honey Dipper? Something else for resonator?

So I saw that Guitar Village has the Gretsch Honey Dipper with 20% off. My bonus is coming in the next month or so and I'm quite tempted. Any thoughts about it? I'm willing to go a little higher if the extra is worth it. I've reached out to Michael Messer but have gotten no response in some time, so I'm presuming he's out of action.

MM is most definitely in action. Can’t speak of why he hasn’t replied
The Honeydipper is a solid choice but the MM is a step above and they are very similarly priced. Also with an MM you get it set up by Dave King. Nice. And you get a very personal service with ongoing support from him. They are genuinely comparable to NRP guitars in my opinion

weird. e-mailed about a 14-fret MM blues a few months ago and he said he'd let me know when they were back in stock. Chased last week and got nothing.

He might be a bit all over the place with this Covid situation. He’s a working musician with gigs and tours to re-jiggle so I’d give it another try
They pop up on eBay quite regularly around the £400 mark.
