Connecting the fx out of an amp to a pc

Is ti possible and safe to connect the fx out of the fx loop in my cub12 to the pc? It’s a combo so there would be the speaker load right?

the plan is to record directly into garage band using the guitar rig connection from AmpliTube with cab impulses. Is it doable?

Yes, perfectly ok. Couple of things to note.
The FX out will be a mono jack but the line into the PC will likely be stereo thus you will only get one channel.

If the PC is a desktop or a mains powered laptop you could get a hum loop but try it and report back.

Usually need to keep a load attached to the speaker out of the amp

FX out should be pre master VC.

I’ve given it a try and it works. It actually sounds good with my two notes plugin but... the latency is crazy. I think my Mac is not up to the job and garage band doesn’t allow for adjusting buffer and sample size.

You'll need a usb interface for low latency
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

The iRig was supposed to allow for low latency, right?

Update: rebooted the Mac and now latency is much better. Still noticeable but much more manageable

Sorry if this is a silly question but does that mean there is then no sound from the amp speaker? So silent recording/practice?
Also fx out is same as send? (I have a vc15 and never thought of using just the preamp section into a cab sim)

Cheers @fnpt for the discovery. I always thought I’d need a load box or something to play silently using my amp. Great to have something new to try just now with no outlay involved.
