Fucking hell Michael Schenker is great.

One of my all time guitar heroes and one of the reasons I love Flying Vs so much.

Akkerman here is sensational, his amp is almost clean and his playing very accurate. I don't know anyone else playing so fast
so early on. The crowd are awestruck.

1973, I give you Allan Holdsworth in Tempext, what a sound, go to 2 mins for the embryonic majesty that was to follow

Worth mentioning that the second Tempest album, Living in Fear, featured Ollie Halsall, mentioned earlier in the thread.  I think at one point both Holdsworth and Halsall were in the band, but not on record.

    Fantastic Alan Holdsworth playing

So Eddie Van Halen recites Clapton as his influence and hides the fact that his real influence is Alan Holdsworth.Eddie always hid things in order not to be copied.

Thank you so much for that as I never heard of Tempest.I feel so uneducated

You should hear live live 74 gig with a Holdsworth and Hallisall, absolutely mental guitar playing :), if you pop me your email I’ll pop it over to you, it’s an old BBC In concert gig that I managed to snaffle years ago
