Be kind... at the ripe old age of 65 I’ve finally got around to recording my first YouTube video! Huge thanks to @oaf who came to the aid of a compete Luddite and improved the sound enormously by adding some eq, compression and reverb to the audio (whatever that all means). Despite being used to playing electric guitar in a band, it’s unnerving seeing yourself under the microscope as it were, and hearing every duff note and out of tune vocal. But it’s also very cathartic and energising to just do something instead of going completely stir crazy! I’d encourage anyone who hasn’t done it to have a go. Beware part two...

Edit: second vid now added.

hey, well done! Good quality sound and video as well. I'm envious of anyone who can sing, I sure wish I could. All my early videos I kind of hid so that you couldn't see my face, but I realised that people much prefer to actually see the person performing. I should record another video.

I’m a Neil Young fan and that’s one of my fav songs. You start playing and I thought - ok, he can play it no trouble, how’s he going to manage to sing it? And then you did. Extremely well.
As someone who cannot sing for toffee I am in huge admiration for that performance. Excellent.
    gets a Wow from me.

You've got a nice voice for an old git (as in 3 years older than me, that's enough, right?...) :-). Lovely job! Looking forward to no 2.

Not wanting to pigeon hole you as Neil youngish but with that voice I’d like to see needle and the damage done and down by the river!

Thanks, very happy to be Neil youngish! Needle is definitely on the agenda, along with several other NY songs. I’ve never learned Down By The River though, might have to if isolation/lockdown goes on long enough.

Mate that’s a great cover,  guitar and vocal wise ,  very well done . I remember it being featured in the trailer and documentary ,dogtown and the Z boys , then it was used in the film lords of dogtown  so I always connect it with skating . Was a treat to hear it again
