Obviously others could have their own ideas.

But in terms of actually what went down in Las Vegas this has the sniff of reality - which I think a lot of organised crime films are lacking in.

Long Good Friday is also an excellent one, but it was never quite clear where Harold Shand's(Bob Hoskin's) cash-flow was coming from to fund his organisation.

It's a great film, but The Godfather has to be the best.
The first one that is. The second one wasn't bad and the third one was utter shite.

The Godfather Parts 1 & 2, Once Upon A Time In America, Goodfellas, and Sexy Beast are all better, at least... so it's not even in the top five.

I think I must be the only person on the planet who's never seen any of the Godfather movies.

I'm a fan of the genre, but have never sight them out to watch.

You're not the only one, I haven't seen them either. I read the book, and it made me really want to see the film, but I've never got round to it. Maybe while we're all locked in I'll find some time...

Yeah I think Goodfellas is probably the best. I do like Casino as Goodfellas' sort of companion piece though, a kind of Shakespearean mirror image if you will.

Never seen any of the Godfather films either.

Goodfellas is good, but way too long. Cut out the word "fuck" and it's an hour shorter.

Goodfellas and Casino are both good - But for me Godfather part 1/2 and 3 are the best

Recently say the Irishman and was not knocked out with it - It was okay but not wow !

IMO you need to watch all 3 of the Godfather movies - But all 3 are good

I like all 3 but agree 1/2 are better - The idea that the Catholic Church is more corrupt and less honourable than the Mafia is interesting - My gran was about as devout a Catholic as they come - I mentioned this to her one day and expected a ear bashing - She instantly agreed about all the shenanigans

Yes, Godfather 1 and 2 for me (in that order, I think) but I thought 3 was a good film in its own right - it just had a lot to live up to.

I also like the old gangster films, so 'The Roaring Twenties' is a favourite of mine.

They did a thing where they cut up the first two Godfather films and put them back together in chronological order, along with some stuff that had been cut from the originals. So you get about 6 hours worth from memory, no flashbacks or anything. Does add a certain clarity to the story and well worth seeing if you're a big fan of the orginals.
