Recording DI for reamping later, Can I split the guitar like this?

Want to give reamping a try so I was going to use the 'bypass out' on a Planet Waves CT-04 tuner to feed the 'instrument' input on an audio interface while sending the CT-04's 'output' to the effects chain and amp. I'll be using guitars with passive pups. I'll also be tracking the amp with mics at the same time. Is this going to work?

If the bypass output of the tuner is buffered it will work fine .... if it's not then the input impedance of the interface will be a bit low for passive pickups unbuffered and might suck the tone a bit

  • Nah, the 'bypass' on the tuner is a hard bypass..... so it seems to be a no-go. I was hoping that the hard bypass wouldn't matter because it was going into an instrument-level micpre on the audio interface.
