Must note for anyone using Posca, don’t seal your artwork with PVA type artist varnish, the paint disolves.....ask me how I know!.......

Halfords Clear Lacquer is fine though....

Noted, as the “artists” on this project are 12 & 14 yr old girls who have been cooped up away from their friends for 2 1/2 months they’re already emotionally quite highly strung. I don’t imagine they would take watching their masterpieces running off of the face of the guitar body all that well...

I did a few “Pop Art ish mini canvases of family dogs, thought this morning I’d seal them all and get them in the post, poured a small puddle of she who lives by the sinks artist pva varnish onto one and started spreading it with the brush, I was delighted to see my amateurish design strat to dissolve......shit or bust, ran it under the tap, saved! but needs touching up......
This gives an idea of what I did , the one I cocked up is drying outdoors, while I sulk!

That is good. There’s a weird optical effect where it looks like a left hander!
    Karma......

Completely agree Paul, I love how their responses couldn’t have been more different.
And for context, the cats name is Kyle, apparently...

Oh a cat, I see now :)  For some reason my brain saw that as a weird Picasso-esque shark chasing all the eyes!  Very cool (and the fish and dragon are superb)

I’ve been locked in the house with 3 of them for best part of 3 months. I think I may start to unravel...
Still on the upside the “Koi Karpcaster” is starting with clear coat tomorrow !

You can also get the full Posca range from Jackson's art. They also do similar pens by Molotow, Montana and Liquitex, cheaper than Amazon. They also do Acrylic gouache by AV Vallejo, liquitex and others. Gouache is very opaque, it's acrylic so dries quick and won't reset. It also brushes on well, leaving no brush marks. The AV Vallejo pots are really good and the cheapest range. The Liquitex gouache is also very good, bit dearer but has the advantage that they color match with their ranges of acrylics and spray cans.

I am loving the artwork! I'm tempted to get some posca's to attempt a scratchplate for an Ibanez (lefties are always Black :( )

I figure I can photocopy a page from SWMBO's mindfulness colouring book ;)

You wouldn't need many pens to create Jimmy Page's dragoncaster. If you used a US Std tele you'll end up with something better than the MIM £1200 JP Telecaster (which is being discontinued I think). You'll need a clear pickguard and a bit of tin foil to stick behind it and an ashtray bridge.

The Kilecaster (Kile not Kyle apparently) is back.
This time rendered against a rather fetching shade of Frozen Strawberry
