This is my good bike. Custom built Mondraker Dune XR.
Bought it to replace my downhill bike, and for more gravity orientated stuff, but I was completely surprised with how well it climbs, so much so, it gets ridden far more than I thought it would. Managed over 1000 miles on it last year.
Still leaves me grinning every time I ride it.
Devinci Django. This is my old good bike, which got a bit neglected last year due to the purchase of the Dune, but I resurrected it for winter trail duties, and it's reminded me just how fun short travel is. Can go just as fast as the Dune until the trail gets a bit rougher, then it quickly reminds you, it's not got as much suspension
And the bored after work but can't be bothered driving anywhere fitness machine aka a Merlin Cordite. Bought solely for fitness reasons, but has been the only source of riding during the lockdown, as local trails are pretty dull, and busy with walkers.
I also have a 26" jump bike buried in the shed, along with the old completely knackered 26" hardtail.
@drofluf could you let me know what the advantages are on the single speed over multi geared bikes. I've recently converted my Specialized Sirrus to eight speed from twenty four because I prefer the simplicity of it, and a single speed would be right up my street, I reckon. I tend to only use two gears in general, so would love to hear your experience of riding a single speed.
there is a delicious looking fixed marin pine Mountain on eBay - no suspension, steel frame, big tyre mountain bike. Yummy.
Actually there are 4 speeds not one: sit, stand, push and puke.
Singlespeed is never being in the wrong gear

Thanks for the reply mate, something to bare in mind when I'm looking for my next bike.
That's what a great bike is all about.
