The greatest rock'n'roll voice is no more.

It's the end of an era.

    RIP :(

I think Jerry Lee Lewis is the only one of the original rock’n’rollers left now.

I've long held Tutti Frutti as one the best and most important records of all time.
A sad day in this house and a glass will be raised in his honour tonight.

Little Richard, Chuck Berry & Jerry Lee Lewis, for me the three greatest original Rock 'n Roll musicians. Possibly pre-army Elvis and Fats Domino could be part of that small group, but for me, Little Richard had the voice, the passion and the showmanship. RIP

The greatest of the 50s rock'n'rollers.  Artists like Cash, Elvis, Orbison maybe made bigger careers by moving into other genres but Little Richard made the most visceral, raw and exciting versions of the orginal rock'n'roll template.

An amazing figure and so influential as well ( The Beatles, Hendrix, Prince and their acolytes for starters ).
    RIP.

Buddy Holly too, for me, in that exclusive band of original influencers. RIP Little Richard - absolute dynamite.

    Sad day, truly an icon.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

My father saw him on television in the late 60s and said "He won't last long".

What a performer he was. Absolutely electric performances and the backings on those early hits were superb. He contributed so much to popular music. RIP but never forgotten.

My dad saw him in concert with the stones in Bradford in the 60s but had never heard of him. He appeared in a top hat and tails and quietly announced he was going to play a sonata in e minor before blowing the roof off the place.

I love this clip of him talking about Jimi Hendrix; (Jimi was gonna take ‘em higher than that!) hilarious, he was so charismatic, a force of nature.

RIP is so valid as this guy certainly knew how to rip it up - Certainly a showman - Left a few classics that we can all enjoy listening to for many more years - Thanks for the memories
