I have started an online piano playing course, the instrument gives my guitar playing a bit of a lift.  In the same way that playing bass had the same effect.

As an aside, I decided to try and pick out the notes for the intro to Sweet Child O Mine on the piano.  I knew that there are many videos online showing how to play this song but I wanted to go it alone, the old fashioned way.  Even my hamfisted effort sounded pretty good.  Chords with left hand, melody with right.  Sounded so good that maybe that is how GNR ought to have recorded the song way back then. Not as macho as on a Les Paul, maybe not as rock but it works very well on piano.

TBH the song might well have disappeared into a black hole had the intro been played on piano but who knows.  Give it a try yourself if you have keys to hand.  It is and always will be one of the great songs of our time.
