Great actor in everything he was in .... always looked forward to his performances especially when he played a baddie ....  my actress friend knew him in liverpool in the 60s said he was a nice bloke , goodbye lucian and his rabbits ....

Ahh, sad. I loved the Liver Birds as a kid and remember him from that, yes lots of listening to him narrate Thomas when my kids were little and when he has popped up in other roles (although I must be the only person over 50 in the UK who didn't watch Black Stuff). RIP.

No, I never watched it either.  And I've never heard him narrate Thomas the Tank Engine.  He'll always be Lucien to me - I'd almost forgotten the Boswells didn't appear until the fifth series of the Liver Birds.
