After weeks and weeks of beautiful weather I went nuts yesterday and bought a new barbecue.

Hence the death of summer, expect hurricanes within the week and snow after the weekend.

I can only apologise...

Could you not at least have waited until we were arsing up a Test match? Let's have rain, by all means, but let's put it to good use.

Rain normally coincides with me washing my car minutes before.

    Did you go gas?

We had a Wever gas BBQ in Mallorca last year, I wanted to take it home with me.

Thanks of remaining up on this and taking the blame. I can now keep quiet about the guilt I was feeling for ordering a new gas canister for mine :)

@Fuengi Yes I'm gas only, too lazy for charcoal. I bought a weber. Missus munckee thrilled with the £1000 it cost...

Yeah but you have a sandy beach where ours is stony so when I say sorry everyone, that  doesn't include you : )

We had the same in Canada last year, I have a charcoal one here. It's a bit more of an occasion when we use it I think. However a nice fillet of salmon on a cedar plank on the Weber along with the ease of use was brilliant.

Er, I might have to shoulder some of the burden of guilt. I used a sprinkler to water the tiny front and back gardens yesterday. Luckily there is no chance of rain here in Suffolk, I feel sorry for the rest of you.

    That's a grill not a BBQ.

I'm sure she was jumping up and and down and clapping her hands in excitement to see what you cremated next.

Don't worry about the rain, if you crank it up to full and leave the lid open any water will evaporate 9ft from the surface of the grill.
