I play mine with Flix brushes - they're fibre brushes so don't rust/bend or get wrecked too easily.

Thanks for that, had a quick look and see they do four different styles, any preference?

I use Flix too , I find the Reds are a good "jack of all trades" option.

I have tried Flix but I mprefer the sound of these Cajon brushes which have 180 fine nylon brushes. Think Flix but finer; they take you closer towards the sound of brushes on a snare.

I must be a rank amateur...I've only ever used my hands!

My cajon is just something that gets chucked in for camping trips

Thanks for the replies everyone, had a look at the Sela’s as well but just ordered a set of LP retractable brushes on the recommendation of a drummer friend, will let you all know how I get on.

I like Schlagwerk Cajon Brush #3

It's fairly thin, but, I find the thicker ones a bit clublike

Love the feel of the Latin Percussion brushes, they work really well for me, like the tone & the fact they are retractable hopefully means they’re less prone to damage.

I have a Meinl Subwoofer Cajon.
Also use some brushes and some hotrods.
