2008 Fender Japan Strat ST65B-TX - £800

Three-tone sunburst and Texas Special pickups.

Made for the Japanese market - a '65 reissue - with transition headstock and bound neck which I really like, that coupled with '65 being my birth year was the reason I bought it in the first place!

In the photographs the scratch plate looks white, but it isn't that white in reality.

Guitar is in excellent condition with very minimal fret wear.

Complete with Hiscox hardshell case.

2001 Grestch G6120N New Nashville - £1700

Unlike the majority of Gretsch hollow body guitars this one has a thin body (akin to a Gibson 335 in width) and a Florentine cutaway - leading to some Gretsch purists to the opinion that it's not a real Gretsch...

Despite the thin body, it still gives the typical Gretsch sound.

It has the lovely orange Gretsch coloured body with white binding, gold hardware (slightly worn in places - it was like that when I bought it). There is some slight scratching on the back of the body (hardly noticeable). It has minimal fret wear.

Complete with Gretsch hardshell case.

1991 Charvel ST Custom - £400

This has to be the least fashionable Charvel on the market, on account of the headstock shape!

This guitar was made in Japan.

I've had this from new, it's never been out of the house, but does have a couple of dings (made by magic when it used to be out on a stand in the lounge...) The humbucker has been replaced and the toggle switch was rewired as part of that work.

The neck is lovely and its a cracking guitar to play - despite the headstock!

SOLD - 2004 Gretsch G6120AM - £1700 ono

I bought this around 5 years ago as a present to myself for my 50th birthday. It's a beautiful guitar, amber maple finish. Has TV Jones pickups. Absolutely immaculate condition, complete with case and case candy.

I’m not dissing it, I actually feel quite sorry for it! 

I’m aware most people don’t seem too keen on the headstock shape which is a shame because it’s a nice guitar to play.

Regarding trades for the Gretsches - I'll only consider Rickenbacker guitars and specifically a 360/12 or 370/12 in mapleglo.

have you tried showing the 6120N and over at Gretsch Talk?  I would evangelise it for you there, but was banned for saying that ‘Trump means Fart’ in the UK.
Anyway, there are some lovely member over there, and they like a Gretsch, and the 6120N is highly regarded over there. 

Might be worth a try. 

If I had the free cash, I’d take it off you. I think it’s a model that’s going to go up in value. Quite rare, and very lovely.

Thanks @TheMarlin I haven’t been on Gretsch Talk for some time, so I might give it a go!

I think the thing with the 6120N is that people don’t see it as a “real” Gretsch on account of the Gibsonesque florentine cutaway and thin body. 

I know it’s a rare guitar and they rarely come up for sale, I’ve only seen one more (and that was just recently) since I acquired mine nearly 5 years ago now!

Go on Gretsch Talk, chat to them first. They don’t like it if you turn up and start selling. Need to establish yourself a bit first. 

Introduce yourself, talk about how great your Gretsches are, they’ll love you.  Might even get an offer on one!
