GarageBand manuals/tuition

I’m really thinking about some kit to do some home recording. A good place to start cos it’s free with Apple I feel is GarageBand. However, other than YouTube videos can anyone recommend a good manual to better my basic knowledge of it so far?

I’ll eventually get logic once I’ve got a good understanding of GarageBand

I bought the Kindle version of Apple Pro Training Series: Garageband last December. Although it's a few years old, it got me further than all the previous failed attempts I'd made using the web. Having downloadable examples that went along with the text helped a lot. It must have worked, as I've recently finished my first ever song.

I don’t have a kindle. Does it come in other formats @Habanero ?

You can get apps for Apple, Android & Windows that can read Kindle ebooks.
Not promoting Amazon here, but you can download the free reading app & buy the manual/ebook.   https://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-Pro-Training-Mary-Plummer/dp/0133900924

£65 for the book? Blimey. I guess I'll be downloading that Kindle app then  Thanks

Only problem is I have Garageband 10.3 installed on my laptop and any resource files from the book won't work with it apparently

I have the book in excellent nick. £20 delivered if you're interested. Comes with a code to access digital files but I could put them on a stick if you wanted.

Do you know if any of the tuition files works with any later versions of GarageBand @JezWynd I.e. 10 - 10.3? What version of GarageBand do you use ?

Yes the Kindle app is ideal - I used it on an iPad which meant I could have GB full screen on the Mac. I've just double-checked and the resource files do work on the latest version of Garageband. The only minor problem I had was that some of features have moved around in the menu or GUI.

@hotpickups No problem. I'd also recommend this YouTube video, which uses an older version of GB, but is quite good in that it shows a lot of aspects. His tip of using the arrangement track to control the drummer I've not seen elsewhere. The same guy has another where he creates a version of "Knocking on Heavens Door" step-by-step.
