Can you be so in tune with a guitarist that you eventually become them? I am of course talking about your playing style rather than a dress up tribute thing

There've been a lot of favourite players over the years that I've tried to copy and not really managed it.  But at least I picked up something in the attempt, so there's an inferior version of many in my playing style
