V's are awesome, but I can't seem to get into a musical project that would justify it. Do you rest the V gap on your thigh when practicing? Or do you need a strap all the time?

If I had a pic then I would post a pic of my long gone Ovation Breadwinner.

Still have this though..... and it's Marmite colour.

    That’s not a Breadwinner it’s a venom I think.
OK please reread my post. I said "If I had a pic then I would post a pic of my long gone Ovation Breadwinner."

That means that I no longer have a Breadwinner. I then go on to say "
Still have this though..... and it's Marmite colour. "
    I then posted a guitar that ISN'T a Breadwinner.

The clue is on the pick guard. It says "Viper", which is precisely what it is. An Ovation Viper. And I still have it, but not the Breadwinner.

Or Viper, can’t remember which now.
Viper. It says so in white letters on the pick guard.

Makes for a handy carrying handle. Like a Jem :)
Yeah, but why would you want to carry it? Best left in the case.
    ... under someone else’s ownership ;)

I actually quite like it and was only pulling your pud. I'm no longer a strat player, but I can see the attraction of something lighter in weight with a bit of a hollow thing going on.

@terada ; I love that first strat! want!!!

To be honest, I abstained from voting negatively on peoples guitars, it seems a bit mean. No LOL votes from me although there are some I don't like personally.

    Paisley has to be lolled.

@terada how did you get that marble finish on your Strat?

    @Vibetronic ;
    Steinberger GR-4
JCustom FX bridge, HH (middle dummy) instead of HSS, 5 way switch (bridge, bridge tapped, middle, neck tapped, neck), non-double ball string adapter at the top. Swirl paintjob was done well, but not the finish over it so I might have to refinish it at some point or another.

Ah, cool. Was pretty sure it wasn’t a Kiesel, think the Steinberger body is a bit neater. Very cool guitar!

    needs the Klein pickguard IMO
I don’t like pickguards. I’d rather see the wood. They make manufacture a lot easier, but I’m prepared to put on the extra effort to avoid them

  • Basically what I have learnt from this thread is I need to refinish my guitars in a nice colourful swirly pattern because it is quite clearly the best finish for your axe.
Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

The former - it creates a very comfortable classical-style position when seated, really good for widdly things. The necks on these models is identical (to my hands, anyway) to a Gibson slim taper, so I find switching between my current one and my LPs very easy, too.

Personally I find the secret with playing Vs in a seated position is to have an Explorer as well... :-)

Don't ask me, I just play the damned thing...

So judging by the lols and wows on my pic I've come to the conclusion that the Musuar isn't as marmite as I was expecting :D
