Delay with tap tempo - what are you using?

What's Hot
John_PJohn_P Frets: 2744
I’ve got space for a couple more pedals on my board and I could use another delay,  I already have a dm2 on there set for subtle short or slap back so something to complete that.
A providence chrono is probably top of my list but thought I’d see what everyone else is using at the moment.

DOD Rubberneck. And the tap switch when held down can self oscillate. And the bypass switch when held down slows down the delay until you let it go. It's such a fantastic pedal. It's got a gain knob and modulation too. The only thing is that it would be another Analog delay but this one's really versatile..

Eventide Timefactor. Though for smaller boards the Walrus D1 looks fab

TC Flashback v2, with an external tap switch. It's brilliant - much better than the strum-tempo approach of the v1.

    Strymon Brig & DIG.

The Brigadier is great - it sounds really close to bucket brigade style delays (to me, anyway) but it also lets you go up to 5 seconds delay if you want.

The DIG's ability to run 2 delay lines is brilliant for certain effects.

    Keeps me happy anyway!

That's why I love the Timefactor. I've never tried a DIG but it looks good

I'm a huge fan of the Boss DD-200 it does a million things really well, great pedal.

Starting to really get a feel for my Keeley Eccos. Gorgeous sounding tape echo with tap tempo plus the added modulation, or only modulation if you turn down the repeats. Incredibly useful pedal especially as a 2nd or 3rd delay pedal option.

hahahahaha! Did I really do that!?! Boy do I feel sheepish!

Anyway.... The Boss DD7/DD8 are worth a look too. Very good external tap tempo support. The reason they're good is because they allow you to tap even when the pedal is bypassed, and you get a reasonably smooth transition when tapping whilst playing at the same time. This isn't true of quite a lot of pedals out there.

    Bye!

^ Ah yes, the old tap tempo in bypass chestnut.

I never thought it was a big deal until I bought a Vox Delaylab that didn't do it.

Turns out it is a big deal.
