SOLD Alegree Amazonian Wildfire Prototype Humbuckers
What's Hot
I bought these direct from
@Alegree many moons ago and didn't end up using them so they are as new as when I received them. 12 hole covers in chrome with black pole pieces, these were the Amazonian Wildfire humbucker prototypes. See that page for more detail but a few buts that were messaged to me:
"Their output is a bit hotter than they're wound due to being perceived as being hotter because they've got a good deal of treble for pickups of this output level. I'd say they'll probably sound as hot as a super distortion in bridge and a hot paf in the neck.
I'd say in terms of TMB they're be pretty even, because that was the goal in imitating actives. If I were to number it, I'd say the neck is 8/6/6 and the bridge is 7/8/8
Because of the design, the only tonal comparison I can really compare it to is a Tone Zone. Just with a ton more treble, and a ton less bass. And quite a bit less output. It's got the 'dual resonance' thing going on with open mids and clear treble. Same feel and design, different EQ."
Slight scratch on one humbucker.
£66 PPG + postage for the pair (what I originally paid in the Alegree sale).
£50 + postage reduced
Comments
The bridge is more so a modified Tone Zone, I think the neck is some sort of modified humbucker from hell.
Q1. Does the prototype nature of these humbuckers negate the usefulness of the cap/res network of the production model?
