What bass drum pedal

Just managed to break my bass drum pedal, so now looking for a new one.

Gotta work with a Yamaha e kit (old dtxpress 4)

Don't know anything at all about drum gear so recommendations gladly received.

Not looking top end, firmly in the middle.

Happy with my pearl eliminator belt drive, though I've nothing to compare it to

  • I have the DW 3000 series. It's the only only I've used in anger but it's great within the "firmly in the middle" remit.

  • Thanks! Will check both out!

  • I'd second belt drive, love the feel. I had an old Gibraltar that was cheap and 'crap' but it was the best pedal I ever had and the DW stuff I bought to replace it went right back on eBay!

  • I have the DW 3000 series.
I have the same pedal and can vouch for it - solid, capable, adjustable, reliable.

    I prefer chain drive.

DW are excellent- I have a couple of 9000's, but the 3000 is worthy.
Yamaha are underrated too- the FP7210A is a good place to start.

  • DW3000, 5000, and 9000 are all good. Look for something that is dual-chain, and has a solid footboard across the bottom, rather than the two pipe supports. Tama do some nice ones as well.

    Bye!

  • I played a DW9000 single pedal at a drum lesson once and loved it. I have a bog standard mapex double though at home which is alright i suppose

I spent an interesting afternoon in one of those big PMT stores trying out all of their pedals. The top two in my opinion were:

Iron Cobra dual-chain (the one I bought)
    Yamaha direct drive
