Anyone got a Boss Katana 50 and Boss GT Footpedal Combination?

My lovely wife bought me a Katana for a birthday present...
Not allowed to open the box until next week ,though have watched a fair few videos on the subject.
I suspect the katana contains most of the modelling of the  BossGT1?
Looking on advice for how to run this set up or whether i need to just "ditch" the Boss GT1?
I only really use 3 patches , Clean, Blues and psychedelic !! with boost on CTRL1 additional fs5 pedal.

They cover a lot of the same ground and have the same brain so you don't especially need the GT1 any more however the Katana 50 doesn't take the fancy GAFC foot pedal so you might want to hang on to it for flexibility.
