The Amazing Value of Reaper

Was just thinking about how there's been so much success in recent years with the subscription model (e.g. netflix, spotify etc.) and how good it is at making consumers see things as being much cheaper than they are in reality.

For example, some people don't generally think of money in the long term so they see 10 quid a month and think how much their monthly income is and how much 10 quid will affect that. They don't really think that after just a couple of years that's 240 quid, 4 years is 480 quid etc.

So taking that technique in the opposite way - look at Reaper which is an amazing programme. I'm sure some people will prefer other DAWs but objectively it's as good as any. It costs 45 quid and gets you updates for 2 whole versions which generally has been about 4 years.

TLDR; during the time you're eligible for updates to the most recent version, Reaper costs you less than a quid a month. After the four years you still get to use it indefinitely, just not update it anymore.
