A huge influence on contemporary design during the 60s and beyond. Founded Habitat long before IKEA became the place to shop. Quite a man. RIP.

I’ve still got one of his books somewhere, it was something of a style bible for me.

He’s a major influence on the way my house looks even today. When me and MrsICBM got our first house in the mid 80s we bought a lot of Habitat furniture - it seemed like a huge breath of fresh air after the old-fashioned stuff our parents had. It was expensive, but worth it - the quality was far higher than anything out of Ikea and we’ve still got most of it, and it still looks (to me, anyway) simple and timeless.
