evening all

Hope everyone is kushdy & well!

I'm needing some decent tools to speed up the process for me..

Can you guys give me a bit of guidance?

1. Decent bandsaw - needs to be heavy duty enough to cut 45mm blanks, but not too mahoooosive.. ive a large 3 phase one but its too hench & broken

2. Ideally a large enough router table for body blanks.. OR just some sort of footswitch I can use with either my 1/2 shank dewalt or 1/4" cheapo... I can build a table with a mount/hole for cutter... ive always done roundovers etc with a palm router but its a bit inconsistent

Any ideas appreciated as always

    *bump*

Has anyone ever made their own router table?

Or am I better buying one?
Is there a footswitch or something I can buy to control a router or do I need one with a constant on/off?

My b&q special doesn't have a locked on function

Any advice appreciated im not getting anywhere atm

    Hi

I bought an Axminster craft  AC1950b  bandsaw recently and it’s great for cutting blanks, necks , templates etc
It’s far better than my previous hobby bandsaw and turns out professional looking results.     I’d recommend it for what you need.

Router table - I bought a router insert plate and mounted it a large 40mm deep worktop - works a treat.   You need a good router.  I can recommend Trend.   Lots of YT videos on diy router tables.

(If you do mount one in a worktop just make sure it’s in a part of the kitchen where the wife won’t mind!!! ).

    Good luck.

I haven't made my own, I have an aldi special router table. I think Clarke do the same one with different branding. My router also doesn't have a latching switch so I have a mini clamp holding it down. Others have used cable ties.
