I was visiting Scotland last summer and found myself wondering, who are my favorite Scottish bands? And then I thought, how many Scottish bands do I even know?
And then I drank some Scotch and stopped wondering anything at all for a while.
But now I'm at it again. Without using any wikis, here's my embarrassingly short list of bands that I know of and have enjoyed who I'm vaguely aware of having been Scottish:
The Jesus and Mary Chain
The Proclaimers
The Fratellis
The Notorious B.I.G.
Bagpipes
So that's it then. I'm sure there's others that I just can't recall at the moment. Kindly set me straight and add to my list so that I can get to listening.

This is by far their biggest hit and resonated with many US troops in Vietnam at the time.

We have some Fretboarders who've been in bands, calling @ewal and @camf , (Fenn and The Cateran) I'm sure they could name a hell of a lot more. @camf 's new band, Borrowed Books:

My current favourite are the incomparable Cocteau Twins.
And not really a fan, but Biffy Clyro deserve a mention.
