I can't be the only one to have missed this, but I can't find any other references to it on tFB.
On 17 September, Sky Arts launched on Freeview (channel 11) and Freesat (channel 147) as a free-to-air service.
I'm currently watching a programme about Madness.

Yes I’m quite chuffed that my tv updated the other day and I noticed I now have sky arts! I only have freeview and that was a very nice little bonus! Queen live at Wembley today was rather good! I’m looking forward to seeing what else comes up.

Updated my TV yesterday, still no sign of Sky Arts on 147.(London)

I’ve set like 500 things to record already on it and only about 1 in 4 programmes is actually successfully recording on my BT YouView PVR... Have retuned a couple times just in case but no dice. Not sure what’s
up...

I'd heard it was coming on Freeview but hadn't looked at the schedule until now - looks pretty decent, it might be a good last resort channel when there's nothing on late at night.  I've seen everything on Horror Channel and Challenge a million times.

We’ve got a Now TV box so had it for a long time, hadn’t spotted it had gone to Freeview though. A lot of stuff gets repeated quite a bit but you do get the odd gem, for instance yesterday I was watching some stuff I’d recorded: a bio of the Doobie Brothers and some highlights from 2017 Download, both pretty decent. They often re run the Classic Albums programs too.

Don't be suckered in yet. Sky Arts' programming is required by law to include 25% Andre Rieu.

There used to be two Sky Arts channels one of which was 50% Rieu and the other a bit more rocknroll. Then amalgamated into one Rieu and Bonamssa fest.

Not likely to be suckered in, I don't have & will never have a Sky subscription.
Just seemed to be a free music related thing that didn't previously exist to non Sky people before
