SOLD: Guild F-20 Vintage Guitar 1964 Spruce Mahogany (price reduced)

Vintage Guild F-20 from 1964. The back and sides are solid mahogany with a nice sitka spruce top. The back braces, lining, tail and head block are all mahogany with spruce top braces. Mahogany neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge.This is a 0 sized guitar, as good as if not better than Martin 0-18's from the same era. This one was made in the Hoboken factory. Guild moved to Westerly in 1966 and the guitars made before the move were vastly superior & lighter builds (it weighs 3.21lb).

The aged top gives it a warm tone. The guitar is well balanced and works equally well for fingerstyle or for flat picking. The bracing is very finely done on these earlier Guilds. The touch response and richness in tone even at low volumes is a testament to that. The sound is somewhat of a mix between a Gibson LG and and Martin 0-18. The perfect couch guitar.

Some cosmetic wear on the back of the neck in the cowboy chord position

Recent (June 2020) professional set up (Low E 2mm, high E 1.5mm at the 12th fret)
