What is this dude playing?

Hey, so I've recently started playing guitar and i have some questions about how to correctly play some things, since i asked some friends but they didnt know either. Here are the three things.

1. 
Its in the minute 11, the rythm guitars. I know it may sound as  1-5-1 interval, but i tried to play it like that on drop d and didnt sound exactly the same.

2.
In 0`45 also in the rythm guitars, i dont know what is he playing.

3.
This last one is for the solo in 2'40. Is not actually for the notes or anything, but to know the effect, i know it may sound as an octaver, but i think its actually thirds intervals or something like that, the thing is that i dont know what kind of pedal/effect is used.
