  • That orange Performance that I had was owned by a guy called Martin Shellard who has been in a couple of NWOBHM bands, and also did session work (including using my guitar on The Simpsons' Yellow Album).

I swapped the EMG85 in it for another 81 with Karl 'Egghead' Morris from The Exploited.
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

  • A good friend of mine is Elvis Costellos TM, so I had dibs on his entire US live rig lock up when he consolidated it all about 3 years ago.

We brought over a few amps, /13 x 2, Blues Jnr from memory and DRRI he used at Woodstock 94 (Which I kept).

An ex girlfriend of mine used to belong to the drummer from Dead or Alive.
Well, she did not speak highly so maybe ....

she was married to him, so in archaic terms Yes, she did belong.

Fender Twin owned by someone in Blue Aeroplanes. Cost me £120 c.1990.

Colorsound Wah owned by Innes Sibun (he sold it to me for a fiver).

    I still have them both.
I am jealous of the wah. I saw Innes play in a club many years ago and the next day I went out and bought a Crybaby so I could sound like him, just loved his use of wah.

Unfortunately it turned out not to be that simple and I didn't really sound like him, the wah went largely unused, it developed a fault over time, it got sold on here to someone who needed a shell for a project.
But for about 12 hours in 1990 Innes Sibun's wah was my dream pedal.

Innes was lovely. I was a rookie guitarist, 15 years old, and he let me use one of his Strats to try the pedal out. He was so encouraging to me as a young player that I've always tried in turn to be good to up-and-coming guitarists (now that I'm an old fart).

Both the Wah and the Fender Twin came from the listings in the Bath Evening Chronicle. I used to check the music equipment as soon as I could get my hands on the paper. It was around that time when people were selling nice old gear off cheap in order to buy the latest LED-laden digital boxes. I didn't have much money, being 15, so the Chronicle was a great source of cheap gear. Good times!

There must be a million ex Karl Morris guitars / amps / pickups / pedals out there , he loves his gear !

I have quite a few H7 rejects. Some of these are about to return to him in exchange for some other tat.

I've got a Lzzy Hale Epiphone Explorer played by Lzzy Hale at Ally Pally last year.

I won it in a Planet Rock competition!

My mates drummer once owned the bloke from Queens old kit..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I sold a Gibson Firebird V to the guy from EMF. I bought an amp off the band Embrace (and nearly launched a lawsuit because it wasn't theirs to sell apparently!). I also have one of the early prototypes (#2) for the Burns Red Special that was with Brian May / Pete M. for extensive R&D tweaking and has been certified as played by him.

I owned a 58 Les Paul Junior that I'm somewhat sure was owned by Nick Valensi of the Strokes. But it's not fully confirmed.
