 I found an 808 amongst a heap of stored  studio gear a couple of days ago and had an itch to plug it in after all this time.  No idea why, but I have always kept previous kit when I have upgraded, resulting in an storeroom of nostalgia from desks through, ADAT's, DAT machines, outboard gear, stand alone DAW's ( found Roland 16 track and  24 track recorders in there that I had long forgotten about ) and also various drum machines including the 808. There was something wonderful about the sounds, function and user interaction that is missing from software plug ins.
