Looking at the Boss ME6, that was 'state of the art' back then and £239 was a lot of money in 1993 - even at only 3% annual inflation (and it's been a lot more!) that's at least £550 today - which will get you a  flagship Mooer GE300.  Look at how the tech has gone up exponentially and the prices have come down - consider that today, over 27 years later, a Boss ME80 is c£200, a Zoom G5n £225, Mooer GE200 £223 etc.   B
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

  • When I was working in guitar shops (late 90s early 00s) Ernie ball and daddario strings were £5.95 a set. Same shop sells them at £6.25 now

My Digitech RP-1 was £500 in May 1992. Which is about £1050 today. I used to get weird looks at gigs as most other players I saw at gigs just had Boss pedals and the odd Rat.

Difference then was you could make a profit selling strings - Now it is like Bake Bean margins at Sainsbury's

agree that hard to compare hi-tech related prices - As spec, features, tonal quality have all moved up a gear
