Are there any other guitar solos like Gilmour's Money ...

... where it fires up for a bit, then you get that drop out section, then it really kicks in again for the finale?

I was listening to it again yesterday and it just seemed like such an amazing dynamic. I was wondering if you get that anywhere else in a single solo (rather than several throughout a song)?

The only one that springs to mind for me is Steve Stevens on Billy Idol's White wedding Man for all seasons [edit - put the wrong track down!], which drops to a nice jazzy bit and a superb clean run before picking up again.

    A wildcard, the solo in Fundamentally Loathsome, by Marilyn Manson, done in a single take apparently, by ZimZum. Pre John5.

    Steve Stevens is a master. His solo on Man for All Seasons (Whiplash Smile) has that dynamic.
    It's 'fag end of the 80s' production, but nice solo (about 2 mins in)

    @axisus - I have found a suitable solo.
    It's incredible.

    2.48 onwards...ridiculous

    I enjoyed that, I'm rather into 'low tech' playing these days, but I have to add ..... bands look soooo boring when they cut their hair off!

    Glad someone else rates that solo - it's also one of my faves.
    As is his playing on the Rebel Yell album - I love the depth to the guitar arrangements. Anyways, that's a different topic..:)

    You know, I like to post that exact song as often as I can as it is just other worldly to me. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried more when Mr Greenbaum died than when my own dad did.
    Tomorrow will be a good day.
