I'm really liking this old Spyro Gyra concert from 1989 at the moment. Lots of excellent Sax playing from Jay Beckenstein. Really makes you want to take up the instrument!

One of my daughters has a sax, I should sneak a go ....

I love the sound of a nice sax, it gets me a bit like the sound of a Hammond B3.  Don’t play one myself, but I often put sax fills in my songs using my Roland guitar-synth - a great tool (covers a multitude of synths (sorry)!).

I like a good tenor and alto - Not keen on the Courtney Pine style soprano - My dad and granddad both played sax (mainly tenor) so I was brought up with it - Dad's favourite player was Coleman Hawkins

I'm a fan of the 50's blend of  swing, rock n roll,  jump jive etc and much prefer listening to and copying the sax solos these guys play, compared to the guitar player

Dad was a big fan of Spyro Gyra - It was me who introduced him to Jay B
