How much does it weigh if you stand it up and support the headstock to stop it falling over?
Or if you weight yourself on the bathroom scales with and without the guitar and subtract the diff?

I've found that lying guitars down on the scales results in a lower weight.

  • That's lovely. Gibson Custom Shop 57 I guess?
Very light if so. My Edwards double-cut TV yellow weighs in at 2660g (5lbs 13oz) and now I can't even consider playing a guitar heavier than 7oz.... need to find me one of those Cloud 9 Les Pauls.

As is my age hence light guitars .Add a case to the equation and a walk uphill and COPD and balsa wood bodies  become interesting .My Gibson MIdtown isnt that heavy but add in a case and its my stay at home for city centre pub jams.Out comes my battered  paulwonia bodied tele and a gig bag.
