Albums seen as ‘classics’ that you think are rubbish.

What's Hot
RedlesterRedlester Frets: 1072
Inspired by @Hootsmon and his being underwhelmed by  Marvin Gaye’s ‘“What’s Going On?” which discs do you think are just the emperor’s new clothes?

As I said earlier, Astral Weeks by VM for me has to be one that I bought after having read about it, having expected transcendent genius, only to hear a rambling load of old crap. Sounds like a wino with his todger caught in his flies, while a string quartet busks further on down the street.

Please slay more sacred cows here.

Anything by Pink Floyd. I just don't get them.
"Anybody can play. The note is only 20%. The attitude of the motherf*cker who plays it is  80%" - Miles Davis

Wow that escalated quickly, Floyd, Bowie and the Underground are all tosh apparently !

I was thinking more like those over hyped albums you constantly see in the top 100 of all time that no one ever listens to any more such as Beck Odelay and The Strokes This Is It

  • Nevermind by Nirvana. Liked it for a bit. But there was nothing that gripped me long term. But it's all subjective innit?

Production is awful. Hasn’t aged well at all, unlike In Utero.

I love it still. My daughter is 15, the yoof are still transfixed by it.

Anything Led Zeppelin for me, decent band with singing that kills it instantly.

I’ve tried so hard to like that album because for some reason I feel like I’m supposed to. I just find it really boring. I can imagine what it must have sounded like when it first came out, and maybe you had to be there? Well I wasn’t

    Astral Weeks for me too.

And I've never seen the appeal of 95% of any of the Beatles' post-Beatles work.

    Everything by Deep Purple
I tried so hard to like it as a teenager before I even got all that picky
Just sounds like auto pilot paint-by-numbers to me
    I fully appreciate the musicianship

    Same with Queen
