SOLD: 1997 Fender USA 'Fat' Telecaster - California Series - FINAL PRICE DROP - £595

Looking for £695 £650 £595. Includes non-original hard case. Few dings here and there, some minor scratching to back, but overall in pretty good condition for a 90's guitar. Would benefit from some new strings and a setup. I've had this about 9 months and have not changed the strings since I have owned it. Seems to be quite a heavy string gauge on it , and the action is a little higher than I would normally prefer.

Previous owner reckons the bridge saddles are not original. Apart from that I believe it to be stock. Great sounding tele. Can courier within mainland UK for £15. Pics:

The guitar saddles look pretty original to me . . . I have the very same guitar but mines finished in sunburst . . . These really are a great tool to use . . The 5 way Switch gives it more tone options than a Swiss Army Knife . . These are a really good Telecaster and they weren't made for too long . . . These were originally supplied with a Deluxe Fender Padded Gig Bag as I remember . . I've had mine for quite a few years now and I wouldn't want to part with it . . . Im surprised its not sold yet !

I had a california series strat, really liked it. Depending on who you ask there's always been some contention about its origin. The popular one seems to be thatvthey were painted in Mexico and assembled in the USA.

Either way, its an interesting collaboration and some really good models.

They are excellent with a nice fresh set of 10's fitted and decent action . . . I have one :-) its a great guitar  . . . My nephew keeps hinting how much he would like it but its not going anywhere :-)

Absolute bargain . . . joking apart, if I had the money spare, I'd buy it myself and I already have one ! !  . . . That's an awful lot of guitar for the money  . . . Every time my 27 year old nephew comes over to my place he goes straight to the attic to play the Telecaster . . . I'm lucky if I get a "Hello Uncle Mark" on the way . . .

Disappointing, I was waiting for my funds to come in after selling some furniture on eBay and the day it clears is the day the guitar sold on here. I would have loved to have it! Shame this site is becoming the flippers paradise!

Not a massive conciliation, but I would forget about it and get a nice baja or similar standard Mexican tele.  These are nice but no nicer than that for me. 

No disrespect to the seller here, I had a strat from this series. But they priced it about right. The seller on ebay now is either deluded, or hopes to pull the wool over some poor saps eyes that this 'california series' is a full fat USA model...which it isn't.

Yeah @Gerz6558 I just fancied that one, but have you seen the price of bajas recently???!! Stupid money and people seem to think the words ‘custom shop designed’ adds many a ££. I’m just a tele fiend is all, looking for a pink paisley one too at the minute.
