is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

My massive regret was missing the original Wall concerts.
Another would be Dave Lee Roth with Vai and Sheehan - I was on holiday and couldn't get there

There are general regrets, not seeing:
Queen before they brought synths in, so pre-the Game.
    Van Halen with DLR
    Genesis with Hackett
Yes around Going for the one
ACDC when they were with Bon Scott but otherwise maybe 10 year ago or so.

The original Wall gigs is also my biggest regret. I did see Waters do The Wall  at Wembly but it's not quite the same.

I see The Eat em & Smile tour at Wembly but the sound was pretty bad. Never saw VH with DLR but always wanted to.

Would have liked to have been in the hacienda at the start of madchester just to be able to say I was there. With the happy Mondays.
All happened when I was just too young.

Whenever I have this conversation with guys of my age it's funny how often you get the comment "oh seen them - you didn't miss much".   BITD live performances were a bit hit and miss and I could reel off a long list of support bands that were much better than the headline act (there might be another thread there).

But I would dearly love to have seen (the original line up of) The Who.

I saw some of those above including Queen in 76 and 77, Lizzy with Robertson and Motorhead at the Hermit Club in 78. Also one of the original Wall gigs which after so many other things I had seen was rather dull, sorry.

I would have loved to have seen Led Zep at Earls Court in 1975, I would have been 14 or 15. I saw them at Knebworth but IMHO they weren’t that good there

  • 15th of May 1967, Bag O'Nails London... The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

In the audience...Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Brian Epstein, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, The Hollies, the Small Faces, The Animals and Lulu.
Probably wouldn't of got in at 6 years of age though!

Wow, how could I forget! Massive mistake that I never saw Rush, absolutely one of the most important bands of my youth. I think the problem was that I wasn't into their material from Hold your fire onwards, so I didn't look into it by then. I would have LOVED to see them tour ANY album before then.

That was the Highway to Hell tour, I think?  I'd have been about 9.  Opening for AC/DC really shows on the High n' Dry album, I reckon.

Trouble at the marquee in 1990. Friends from school went.

@Reverend That just popped into my mind as well.

This will sound ridiculous, but I may have been at that gig... I'm just not sure.  I went to a lot of gigs, especially at the Marquee, in those days but I was also reading all the gig reviews in Kerrang, Metal Hammer etc... sometimes I forget which bands I've seen and which I haven't.

I'm about 60% sure I didn't actually see Trouble, but sometimes I get little flashback mental images which suggest I did.  And I can't think why I wouldn't have gone, unless it was just sold out.

I definitely wasn't at that one!  I thought it might have been Corrosion of Conformity, I definitely saw them at the Marquee in 1991.

  • Nirvana, Reading 92. I just missed out on this, I was at all the Reading fests between 93 and 96. I also had a ticket to see Nirvana at B’ham, one of the never happened final tour gigs. Seeing them would have been massive for me.
